ADHD

“I get stressed at work because I don’t find it easy to focus on the tiny details.”
“I can get so engrossed in something that I forget everything around me.”
“Because of the negative feedback I have had, my confidence is very low.”
“I’m often tired because I’m forever chasing deadlines, don’t have time eat properly and then lose sleep.”

If you have ADHD traits or a diagnosis of ADHD, you will have noticed that you are not alone – it’s very common.

Some of the goals I have helped clients with ADHD traits or an ADHD diagnosis work towards are:

  • Establishing healthy routines, for example getting up at more or less the same time each day, eating well and engaging in regular exercise
  • Disentangling behaviour patterns that stop you from doing what you know is good for you
  • Being organised – finding a method of scheduling/diarising that you like
  • Self-compassion and learning from experience, ie how to be your own positive coach rather than telling yourself off for things that haven’t worked. Becoming more aware of your strengths.
  • Anxiety management
  • Impulsivity management
  • Finding a good work-life balance to manage work related stress and prevent burnout
  • Assertive communication – how to tell people what is going on for you and what you might prefer them to do
